The Special Events Sales Coordinator is expected to provide excellent customer service and the ability to work in a high-pressure, fast paced environment. A successful candidate is able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and is able to multi-task; make reasonable recommendations to customers that are consistent with standards of the catering department; strong attention to detail; must be able to maintain well documented, organized, accurate, and up-to-date files in order to serve client and employer in the most expedient and knowledgeable manner. Positive and productive interaction with clients and staff is paramount in this position.

Pay: $50000 - $58000 / year

Job Duties:

  • Daily responsibilities include tasks related to contacting potential clients, qualifying and responding to leads, issuing contracts, and prospecting new business
  • Filter incoming leads and answer customer inquiries accurately and in a timely manner
  • Schedules on-site tours and appointments between potential new clients and on-site special event sales teams
  • Balances time and manage resources accordingly for identifying high quality new business, prospecting, removing bottlenecks, and clearing barriers that inhibit sales growth
  • Communicates directly with prospective clients and ensures an exceptional five-star experience
  • Documents and shares detailed guest information with the onsite special event teams utilizing Delphi & Salesforce systems
  • Assists in developing new systems, structures, and best practices for sales offices
  • Takes initiative and ownership to anticipate and resolve any additional guest issues or concerns
  • Contacts and re-solicits lost special event leads to uncover and secure special events business
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining accounts, contacts and inquiry data, developing weekly and monthly sales reports in accordance with the company’s sales procedure standards, and preparing additional reports on various metrics as requested
  • Meets weekly with the special events sales department manager and communicates updates regularly

Required Education, Skills, Abilities:

  • 1+ years in Catering Sales office required.
  • Must have experience at a similar size and sales volume property.
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Sales Force and Delphi.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations.
  • Able to set priorities, plan, and organize with strong time-management skills.
  • Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, and clear.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
  • Positive attitude, ability to hustle, and have fun in the workplace.

Physical Demands:

  • This is an administrative position in an office environment. Must be able to sit or stand for hours at a time. Physical demands may include light work, prolonged walking and/or standing. Time may also be spent in a restaurant environment or special event setting.
